Victor Frankenstein looks one of the greatest moral decisions in his life after nearly completing the monster's mate. He is faced with two decisions:
1: Give the new monster life, not knowing what destruction, chaos, or terror they could bring to the whole world when they are combined; or if he creates the monster's partner if they will truly peacefully exist in the wilderness not disturb Frankenstein's family again.
2: Destroy the monster's partner, likely bringing chaos and destruction to those who love him... All in all removing any source of joy in his life.
From reading the novel, we see that he does not trust the monster, and picks option two, destroying his new creation. This decision determines the rest of Victor Frankenstein's life. If faced with this moral dilemma, how would you decide what to do and what would your decision be?

Nathan,
ReplyDeleteI would have created him a bride and then invited the family over for picnics. I would ask the monster for forgiveness. I would give him a name. I would try to teach the world through them how to look through outward appearances. I would, however keep one secret. I would die with the secret of how to give inanimate objects the spark of life.
That's a great question. I agree with Mr. Davis, but I don't think that I would invite the family over for picnics... I would, however, give the monster a name. I would forgive the monster and show him that I do care, then I would in turn ask for his forgiveness. I would give him a mate as long as he promised never to kill another human being again as long as he lives. I would also make sure that his mate was in compliance as well. Maybe I would then publish a book telling my story. The book would be about looking beyond outward appearances...
ReplyDeleteI would have made the Monster a mate and trusted the Monstere. The Monster said that he would leave is family alone once he had a mate. If Victor would have made the Monster a mate. Victor's family might still be alive right now..
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mr. Davis along with inviting them over occasionally for monday night football but seriously I think Victor owed it to his own poor creation.
